"I deleted my blog/journal. Yep. Nuked it from orbit..." Nooooo! I really enjoyed your piece about how Neocities treats the "old web" with unearned nostalgia (I have no idea how I first found it). I've had it linked on my about page pretty much since I started my website.

Eh, it's not that I don't agree with it anymore, it's moreso that I felt like I was fueling the whole online "discourse 🍡" culture with it and I felt like I don't want to associate that kind of negativity with my online artist persona anymore. I'm sorry to upset you and I appreciate that you liked i!

How did you find sqvrltastic.art?: via a google search for how to implement rss on a neocities site - found your reddit post!

Hi there! I came across your tutorial for setting up an rss feed while I was googling around, and it was super helpful! It got me up and running real quickly. Just wanted to drop by and say thanks for the helpful tutorial! Keep up the good work! Lovely site!

Hi sqvrltastic! I'm glad to chance upon your CSS tutorial to animating the detail element; as much as I love the smoothness of the element itself, the lack of transition compared to the animated collapsible div JS snippet that I have been using for over a decade by now does sometimes yank me out of things haha. I hope to fiddle around with your code sometime soon, perhaps for the replies in my guestbook. I'm curious: Considering your web history, do you by chance know if there is a Russian fansite/shrine scene and if it is still active? If so, any pointers as to where to start? :) Lovely sleek layout that you have here, by the way. Best regards, Lethe

Hello, thanks for stopping by and leaving kind words! :) Regarding the tutorial β€” I am well aware that JavaScript solution will probably be more sleek, I am just adamant about my website's core functionality and styles not being JS dependent. Is it likely that somebody has their JS disabled? Very unlikely, but I do that, so I'm stubborn like that. Both methods have a tradeoff, I just made a tutorial on how I did it since I couldn't find any one online. I'm glad you like my layout! :D It's not often I find people on the indie web who appreciate the more minimal aesthetic. Your site looks gorgeous too! Regarding the Russian fansite scene, I'll write you a guestbook entry on your site where I will explain more. Cheers πŸ’–

Just wanted to add something to your browser deshittification guide! For iOS users like myself, I found a guide for downloading SideStore, which is a way to sideload apps with No Jailbreak. I mainly use it to access YouTube Plus with this repo (https://dvntm0.github.io/). No ads, sponsor block, remove feed elements, and you can download videos! Here's the guide I followed: https://docs.sidestore.io/docs/installation/install
